| oke, we all read the pocket kings topic, now a pocket AA topic. I often try to scare away a couple of people by making a pre-flop raise of 3x BB or so. I really dont want to put to much money into the pot pre-flop, because i read more about AA's getting raped , then anything else... Post-flop i prefer slowplaying, i dont want to loose my entire stack to a 2 pair or trips... What are your thoughts about this? | |

| Depends on what part of the game you are in and position. early on in a SnG I will make a good raise preflop. later on near the bubble when it's an agressive table I might slow them preflop in the hope of making a all in reraise and taking it there. after all the bad beats I get on showdowns with AA I don't like slowing them till the end anymore. instead I bet at them when they are still good. hoping to take it down then and there | |

| if its a donkey game i like to raise 4 or 5 times the bigblind... whatever the flop is i go allin after that... chances are big that ill take it down and create a nice chipadvantage. (unless board shows Q K K...then i would be able to drop it, but any random flop, i would shove and take my chances) | |

| I like to make a pre-flop raise that eliminates all but 1-2 players. If a player in front of me raised enough to get a nice value out of the pot Ill re-raise/all in. Because there is a big chance of winning a pot that you would otherwise might have lost on a bad beat, and if he would call you have a nice chance of winning a big pot. | |

| it depends on what kind of table youre on...personally, if there are some maniac raisers and im Im UTG ill limp and normally the maniac will raise and ill push it ALL IN..otherwise regardless of my postion ill make a standard 4xBB raise and will add 1BB for each limpers before me. | |

| i like your suggestion of a standard 4xBB raise, especially with the 1 BB added for every limper... I'm gonna try that one out for sure, thanks! | |

| AA = nothing but trouble,just my opinion. Burned alot by chasers if you dont push preflop. | |

| another tip that has helped me a lot is ... if your raise is 1/3 of your stack you should go ALL IN...your pot committed right before your considered raise...either youll get the blinds or youll be HEADS UP...so you got a 50/50 chance to win. | |

| AA equals all-in. Best starting hand preflop so I bet it that way. I don't make the most $$$/chips by playing it this way but it is the simplest way to play it. You see all five cards and use the all-in to reduce the field and don't have to second quess what flops and if I only win the blinds that's okay too. | |

| pocket Aces - all the action is pre-flop
early position (UTG) i go all-in middle position: no calls -> all-in 1 or 2 calls -> raise to 4BB, if re-raised, all-in late position: no calls -> raise to 2-3 BBs raises -> all-in | |
